Happy Birthday to Us

Postby cameron » Sun May 06, 2007 12:17 pm

Tomorrow this forum will be 3 years old!

I'd like to thank my agent, my hair stylist and my feng shui consultant.

No, seriously - I would like to thank all those who help to keep this train moving and especially all the regulars and mods. Some members, like Kris, have been here since day 1 - well, maybe day 3!

Without wishing to go all 'Dorothy' on you, I would like to thank Nicki who each day steadfastly removes 6-10 porn-promoting spam members and without whose (self-taught) web skills - none of this would have happened.

Many congratulations Cam. You've done - and are doing - a good thing here.

And three cheers for Nicki! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

A very happy birthday to the forum.

I have joined only recently, but have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Many thanks to Cam and Nicki for their hard work here. I hope both of you have been encouraged to keep the forum running long into the future.

Yes, congrats Cam/ Nic.

My job is probably about as far away from poetry as I could get and this place is a kind of refuge for me. A great source of inspiration and encouragement. As David says, a good thing is being done and all the work is appreciated.

Cheers all.

Hurrah! Happy Birthday.

So glad I stumbled upon this place, I trawled the highways and biways looking for an outlet, good timing all round.

As Minst said, it's a kind of refuge, no pressures, no nazi rules, a relaxed atmosphere and some fine fine people who happen to be fine fine exponents of the poetic art, BRILLIANT!

May it long continue.

And yes, applause for Nicki, web mistress supreme.

Whilst we're in Dozzer mode, I kinda miss Barrie and Keith, and Pseud where are you? preaching to the misses/masses, say hello!

cheers
Kris

Thanks for the kind words everybody - nice to know it's appreciated.

Yes, Barrie's computer is taking a long time to fix isn't it? Does he shop at PCWorld, I wonder?

Happy Birthday! Thanks to Cam and Nicola for all their hard work! Nobody out in the poetry internet world does it better! I know for one that the growth I have experienced in my writing in large part has to do with this site and the quality poets it attracts. You guys are doing a great job.

Cheers,
Kimberly

Yes, of course, this place is great and you all know that. I especially appreciate the lack of nazi characteristics.

Kris -

"hello"

oh, and Sarah says "hi"

"nazi characteristics" as a blanket term includes bureacracy too.

Cam and of course Nicki, I forgot to mention you two by name, but definitely a big thanks.

I'm still around, spotty but around. Getting things sorted. Happy Birthday, yes indeed. I still remember my first rows with Kris and Arco and, perhaps most clearly, my first "Cheers." It's been fun thus far being part of an international community of kooks.

Cheers,

Keith

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. The forum does take up a lot of our time and it's good to know it's appreciated.

On a separate note, Cam mentioned my continuing war with the spam registration bots and I decided I have had enough of them. At long last I have got round to finding a 'mod' (alteration to the programming of the forum) which may stop them registering. It has taken me 4 hours and a couple of abortive attempts but finally it is done. Since it was complete we have had no bots - hooray!! It remains to be seen if a real person can get through the defences.

Cheers

2 days and NO spam bots registering - amazing.

The trouble is that I now have more time to spend painting our windows - oh well.
