Rapture

Post by JJWilliamson » Tue Nov 19, 2019 7:24 pm

My sonnet "Rapture", which was workshopped here, has managed a first place in November's IBPC competition.

Thanks to everyone for the great comments and suggestions along the way.

Thank you very much, Tristan, Sid, mac and Not, for the kind replies. Appreciated.

Yes, I think the title could do with a nudge, Not. Agreed. :)

Brilliant news JJ!
As soon as I saw the title it immediately evoked the poem - partly I think because that is the word the N himself would
use, though only in private to himself - and it made me think of the open lakeland 'a's too.
Best,
Jules

Well one, JJ. I don't imagine many sonnets get entered in the IBPC.
I'm out of faith and in my cups
I contemplate such bitter stuff.

Thanks, Ray

yes, and it's the second sonnet of mine to take 1st place. I managed the first one a couple of years ago. Nobody was more surprised than me. :)
