Some great leftfield stuff coming out.

Here's "another folk singer", Simone Felice, hopefully an exception to the rule.

Ah, that was nice Camus.

I can go towards folk.

Far and away my favorite folk singer though, is the indomitable Nina Simone.
(the coincidental link to Simone Felice makes it an impossible link to pass up)

One of Nina Simone's biggest was Feeling Good which was written by Anthony Newley.

Anthony Newley was in this:

Moving on swiftly - Rover was THE cliche name for a pet dog:

I'm betting it'll make a return in an "ironic" kinda way.

Damn. Missed my chance to play Dirty Old Town. (I feel like I missed the party there, too)

At least I'm not hungover. And here's a dog song I'm quite fond of.

From the Decemberists to the...Decemberists, cause it's one of my fav tracks and it'll soon be July!

and because of these lines:

"and i'll say your camisole was sprightly light magenta
when in fact it was a nappy blueish grey"

Oh, I'm a fan of the Decemberists too. The closest I've found to the sound of Neutral Milk Hotel since they disappeared.

Here's a track by Belle & Sebastian with mention of lovely fabrics and underthings: terry underwear, blue velour and silk and suchlike.

Devotchka - Russian for 'girl'. Used by Burgess in Clockwork Orange as part of Nadsat.

Haven't heard that BDB track for ages Kris, beautiful ain't it? Bonus points for the Kubrick link too!

That's just pure class Oskar.

This perhaps isn't as classy, but the great Scatman Crothers was also the voice of:
