Sounds like fun. Anyone want to do it?
Or we could come up with something similar ourselves.

Rosencrantz: What are you playing at? Guildenstern: Words. Words. They're all we have to go on.

Re: Small stones
I love this idea.
It is what I originally wanted to do with the bits thread but, well, at the time, I was so new to poetry I didn't know how to present it.
I would participate, I am sure, if this is developed into something on the site. Yep.

Re: Small stones
I think the idea is sound, a good way to develop poetry. But personally I wouldn't want to post these kernels publicly. Why bother? Wait until you've matured them, then post the poem.

Re: Small stones
Alright then. Could buy a fancy notebook. Or could make a blog to put them on...

Re: Small stones
Do people want to join the 'official' one, or have our own thread for it? I'm sure we could come up with a fancy badge, and start earlier if we wanted. Might be more of a challenge in December!

I have my notebook and I do it all the time (started three months ago).
WOWH obviously do it because it is a web-wide (world-wide) commercial opportunity.
If I joined in, it would be on some 'home-grown' venture.

Re: Small stones
I like the idea a lot.
I've kept a writing book on the go since late 2008 but that was mainly for songwriting, although I have also put a lot of notes for a play in it to. Since 2007 I have taken part in an annual songwriting challenge http://www.fawm.com - an attempt to write 14 songs in the shortest month of the year (February Album Writing Month or FAWM).
The most surprising thing I discovered was just how productive I(you!) can be when you commit to join in with something like this. Even if you end up with only 1 new song - it's probably 1 more than you might have had. The most I've ever managed is 8.
I learned a lot about the creative process and about myself by doing it. Some of the ideas promoted there are that "Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work" (Chuck Close - painter) and that "You can't wait for inspiration - you have to go after it with a club" (Jack London - writer).

Ah, sorry. The over-excitement was all mine.
