Hi All,

Got a poem appearing at The Poetry Shed today. It was workshopped here. So many thanks for all the help.

Congrats, Tristan!

Liked it, the idea, the ending, the ash.

Thanks Seth. Really pleased you like it.

Thanks Mac. Yes, I’m starting to enjoy writing poems which are a bit longer than my norm. Really glad you like it, too.

Cheers both,

Tristan

I so remember this one, Tristan. I think it's great, holding my attention all the way to that glorious close.

Well done, sir!

Hey, this is in Snakeskin too this month. They're okay with simultaneous submissions, are they?

It is a good poem - one of my favourites of yours. I remember joining in the critical free for all on this.

Cheers

Thanks JJ, really pleased you like it.

David, The Poetry Shed are fine with publishing poems that have already been published, but Snakeskin are not. As the submission window didn’t shut until Fed 28th at the Poetry Shed I thought there was no chance of them publishing it before Snakeskin’s March edition. But I was wrong. I should have told George but it was an embassassing situation and didn’t know he was going to give this poem the cover photo for the edition. I owe him an apology, I know, which will be forthcoming. Anyway, pleased you like the poem anyway.

Cheers both,

Tristan

Actually I remember having a similar experience. I sent some to George before the deadline for one month, and heard nothing, so sent them somewhere else, where one was accepted. And then George accepted that one for the following month, and I had to gently tell him. He was very understanding about it.

You were right David, George was very understanding. He’s a very decent fellow indeed.

JJ, closing the poem on those lines was your suggestion I seem to remember. Many thanks!

Well done, Tristan. I was supposed to have a poem appear in Poetry Shed on such and such a date last November, but it never did appear. I've wondered since whether I've committed some transgression or she just forgot!
