Anyway, that said, I think it's a fun project. I suppose vanity is sometimes allowable. PG has been great little corner of the internet for me over the past - seven years, I think, now - and it'll be nice to have some sort of commemoration. I was pretty bah-humbug at first, but watching this thread develop and everyone else getting behind it, I've come around.

You are not being asked for any money, so if you submit and your submissions are accepted they will be published with no cost to you, how could that ever be considered vanity publishing? It is a perfectly normal publishing arrangement, I take the risk of covering costs or not.

Mic

other than for PG-ers to see themselves bound in a handsome vol.

Works for me.
I just see it as a celebration of this website and the fine contributions made over the years.
What's the problem?

Even though I think half of the poems posted here are rubbish. Note: this is not to disparage PG; in the wider world, I think 98% of poems are rubbish.

Just chipping in..
Anywhere where 50 percent of things is not rubbish has to be a good place. That is a high batting average indeed. A batsman with a 50 average would be amongst the greats. If this site = Gary Sobers then we are lucky indeed.
As you were.

k-j wrote:Agreed... 50% rubbish, 40% mediocre, 5% passable, 3% good.

The deadline for submissions was September 1st but we're holding it open for the time being for anyone that's a bit late to the party.
Please feel free to submit.
Cheers,
Nash.
