Guardian Book Swap

Anyone doing the Guardian Book Swap? I'm pleased to see my publisher's got involved, and has kindly left one of my novels lying around somewhere arty.

Hi, Delph -

I think this book swap is a rejoiceable idea. I had never heard of it before, but now I've read the article.
Ach, no one is doing that sort of thing over here (at least not that I know of).
I believe the Written Word should get out & about. Circulate, meet new people, breathe new atmospheres, the lot.

Was your book picked up from its arty lair?
I wish you all the best with it.

Thanks Jane. No idea if anyone picked it up, but I hope they did.

On the one hand, I struggle hard to sell my books so the idea of simply leaving them lying around for people to pick up makes me wince, but on the other, I'd like to think if someone picked up one of my books they might look me up and buy another and who knows...

The more books there are 'out there' the better. The whole book swap idea has been around for a while in various guises. I'd like to think it'll catch on in places where it isn't happening yet.
