So do we have a new featured now? :)

Thinking ahead...perhaps a monthly poll of mod selected poems to vote on...or do I have election fever!

The people have spoken.....new Feature.

If people are interested in having a monthly vote....why not?

So what happened to this idea then?

Insufficient interest it seems.

People can of course still nominate for features. And do, on occasion, when in the mood.

In passing, I am not sure I see why there needs to be any "nominated by the mods" stage anyway, some input from the House of Lords. Why not have it as sufficient to be a candidate that some PGer nominates?

The reason for having mod input was to stop "nomming cliques" developing where people just reflex nominated each other all the time...

However it can be as informal as "and Seth agrees"...

I can't help wondering if there are enough people participating on PG to form a clique! Is there a minimum requirement?

Or one with multiple accounts...

However this reasoning was done back when we were busier.

With Ray. Is there really much of a likelihood of a clique of nomming/voting?

It doesn't have to be deliberate, just a group of people who have a bit of a love-in and all nom each other's work...

But I don't know why I am explaining at such length, it's no biggy, run it however you want we'll probably only get a trickle of noms anyway...

The major problem was more that people didn't want good poems on public display if they wanted to submit them to mags etc. Otherwise I'm happy with however you want to run it. Seth, I think you were happy to do the deed?

Ros
Rosencrantz: What are you playing at? Guildenstern: Words. Words. They're all we have to go on.

I think that features were a sort of in-house accolade in the days before PGers submitted their poems to magazines, successfully. As we've seen, the situation has changed a lot.

So I'm neither for nor against featuring poems again. I am staunchly lukewarm about it.

The mods could vote amongst themselves on a featured poem each month?

I am not sure why the decision should be made only by those in ermine in the House of Lords. Surely the House of Commons should have a vote in this? Did Lloyd George live for nothing?

I'll second that. We do still do nominations and features.

10. It doesn't get used much, which means the mods don't look at it much, which means it doesn't get used much, goto 10

Usually Seth processes them, but since this is for his poem and he's modest, I'll try to remember to do it later on...
