The Cabin Trail 2 (final)

Ok, this really is the final version. I've repainted some of the bright areas again and added more colour.
Palette: Titanium white, cad yellow, cad red, mixed black, cobalt blue, ultramarine.

dear JJWilliamson

it is interesting image that you have shared here

as there appears to be very slight rounding on each corner
and an equivocal horizontal shadow ...... one believes this photo is of a painting executed on stretcher bars

yet the the texture of the surrounding background and the difference of its tonal values
that shift from left to right ....one wonders if the background is actually part and parcel to an entire art work

the repetitive markings on the left create an interesting movement and storytelling

i look forward to hearing if this is just a painting
or a multi media piece

Thanks, Lotus, for dropping in to comment. Very much appreciated.

Yes, this is a photo of one of my paintings. It's on stretched canvas and hanging on my kitchen wall for the snapshot.
The canvas is 2 cms deep, hence the shadows. It's just a bad photo, that's all. I'm getting better so I'll take another
and post it above this one, sans kitchen wall. :)

Best

dear JJ

thankyuuu for the explanation

the entire image along with the kitchen wall background
i find inspiring ..... it has a bit of an aura .....like those of René Magritte canvases

the lighting
in reproduction photography is indeed an art in itself
as well as finding the correct depth of field settings on a lens to capture
the texture of pigment ,brush strokes and linen

it is a true a gift if an artist can develop the skills to make satisfying photo's of his/her own work

i wish you well with all your creative endeavors
