An interesting portrait, this. I like the way he looks at you.
And while we're at the looking business, his eyes remind me a bit of the eyes of the porcelain figurine you posted not so long ago.
They're probably subconscious cousins. But who is Kwasi?

My dad knew Kwasi and thought highly of him when he was stationed in the Gold Coast (modern day Ghana) during WWII. The source photo is one of my dad's, taken around 1942 in or near Accra. I've just visited my mum and 'rescued' a load of photos and artefacts that I suspect she would have thrown away if I hadn't taken them. Mothers, eh?

I'm not sure I'm that keen on the style, but I do feel there is some 'life' in the portrait.

Yes, he does have a great smile, doesn't he. I have a few photos of him. Always get the impression he was a really nice guy.
