White Avenue (smaller version)

Postby JJWilliamson » Fri Dec 01, 2017 7:00 pm

I've got my seasonal head on. Small oil on canvas.
Looks the same size as the others but it's actually much smaller.

Smaller pic, same painting posted directly above the original.

Please reduce painting to 75%.

Love the path JJ, the fact it is untrodden.

Thanks, mac

This is actually one of my favourites, for all its simplicity. It makes me relax.

Hi, mac

You need to reduce the picture to 75% using the gear/tools icon (windows 7).

I'll post a smaller version in a mo'. Won't be long.

I email my photos to myself then save them before downloading onto PG. I must remember to send the medium sized option rather than the large.
I'm using my son's old iphone for the photos and don't, as yet, know how to transfer the pic's directly onto my laptop. The quality and sharpness is also lost in the email, but it gives you the general idea.

Me too :D
Just wanna run up and down and stamp my mark the full length of that soft snowy virgin pathway. :)
Your snow is lush. :D

I do the same.
I then go into Paint, open the image, and reduce it by 50% and then again by 70%.
This gives me a decent size image to then save and use to post on PG.
It's such a faff isn't it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Of course, it's never quite the same as your actual painting but hey ho. We aint trying to sell it.
Do you know if you click on the image on PG it opens it up?
You don't have to scroll down to see the full image :)

I can't beleive it but I am currently working on a comission using the very same colours and topic you have posted.
A pathway through snowy trees.
My sky is pink :D
My path curves a little and I'm gonna add a bench or something .......
Don't want ya thinking I'm copying
My snow is crunchy ( cos I love texture)
I'll share it with you when it's done :)
Great painting JJ.
Thanks for sharing :D

Thanks, Pauline, for the super duper comments. Sorry about the tardy response but I've been busy with this and that, what with Christmas and family demands. Off to Kendal today and Sooth Sheels next week. :) Both flying visits for one night only.

Your snow is lush. :D ...Thanks for that. :D I'm working on a series of winter paintings to see if I can come up with a few I really like. I'm on my sixth as I write.

Of course, it's never quite the same as your actual painting but hey ho. We aint trying to sell it. ...No, it's never the same. The sharpness and hue suffer but the viewer gets the picture (pardon the pun). The thought of selling paintings is nothing more than a dream at the mo'. Stranger things have happened in a storm but I'm not holding my breath. I haven't even tried because I know I'm not ready yet and the market is flooded with young and ambitious talent. Have you?

Do you know if you click on the image on PG it opens it up? ...I did! I used to place "Please click on image for full picture" at the head of the page. I'll start doing that again.

You don't have to scroll down to see the full image :)

I can't beleive it but I am currently working on a comission using the very same colours and topic you have posted. ...A commission!! I want one! No I don't, Yes I do... :)

Great painting JJ. ...Thanks. I'm pleased you like it because You never know. It has a calming effect on me. I popped out to the shop late last night through the snow and noticed how peaceful everything looked and felt when the snow was fresh. The traffic moves slowly and a calmness seems to descend.
Thanks for sharing :D ...You're welcome.

Thanks for the very encouraging visit.
