Ahh, Lake . . . you've taken a trip to the mineral kingdom!

It's a fascinating boulder, this. It looks as if it's very large, more like an island really.
Of course there's nothing to indicate the scale of it, so I suppose it's a silly thing for me to say; but to me it looks like an island.
It wouldn't surprise me if it had waves lapping round its shores, trees growing on its slopes, seagulls circling overhead, and maybe even a little log cabin where the grey-bearded hermit lives.
I think it's too knobbly, too landscape-shaped (?) to be a boulder, even a large one.
But
I like it very much.
It looks like a place where things could live quietly, content.

Thank you for your comment, which I find very poetic.
Yes, I would like to take a trip to landscape.
The reason you feel it is a place where people can rest is the flat suface on the boulder people can sit, maybe.

Hello Lake,
I tend to look at boulders and see if I can see other shapes in them...and I see paws here at bottom and a nose.
I think this boulder can walk!

This is wonderful. Great solidity to it, plus that feeling already mentioned that it could walk. Anyone remember that old Star Trek episode with the rock-like creatures that lived in tunnels? Just me then? Okay.

Thank you Delph. Sometimes some good effect comes from error. The brush should be dry when drawing rocks, but there's too much water when I drew the bottom of the rock, so there it goes.
