I did not know that.

Catullus's girlfriend. Not just the Lesbos allusion, apparently, but the Greek verb lesbiazein, "to fellate".

Which - even if you have only stumbled through the translated Catullus, as I have - makes all the sense in the world.

I think this is great. Can't just say that though, can I? You can make it better. Arthritis is his chain? Or Alzheimer's is his chain? Maybe it's just me, but I don't like there being two chains. And Alzheimer's isn't his chain, is it? It's not what's keeping him attached to the earth - or am I miss...

The second verse especially. Really good. I'm seeing Badger from the Wind in the Willows - such a sophisticated gent - now a cantankerous old git, probably in slippers and his trousers held up with string.

Howdy. I like poetry, like the look of this site, thought I'd mosey in. Not sure I'm going to be a prolific poster, though.
