A. Because in 1997 three of the leading actors were unavailable. Barnaby Boozer had to undergo an emergency liver transplant; Bob Violent was convicted of GBH following an incident in a pub in Deptford and John Moustache, who played Supt Vain, received 3rd degree burns when a can of his hair spray accidentally caught fire.

Q. Is it true that there were plans for a film version of Inspector Boozer?

A. Yes. In 1999 P.M.T.V. sold the film rights to US film giant R.A.N.K. Films Ltd. Early indications were that the part of Inspector Boozer would be played by Keanu Reeves, with Sharon Stone providing the 'love interest' in the form of sexy Mrs Jan Comfort, landlady of the Rampant Hedgehog.

A. No. Harry Hack had Barnaby Boozer (the actor) in mind when he was writing the pilot episode of IBATMM. The pair had met whilst living rough in a cardboard box on the Thames embankment.
